In order to fulfill one of her life’s mission of giving back and providing exceptional coaching for aspiring Emcees, Wannabe Radio DJ’s and Voice-Over talent, Davao’s most famous Host and Voiceover, Ms. Joey Sy-Domingo created a workshop dubbed as “Stand and Deliver”. The event gathered together five of her chosen media practitioners who willingly shared their time and talent fees and gave their full support in her drive to spill some trade secrets to willing participants.

In cooperation with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), through the efforts of Mr. Joe Castillo of Oplan Malasakit, who volunteered to bring all the donations to Marawi, the workshop was held at Cinematheque last July 8, 2017.  Joey Sy-Domingo, Rey Bargamento a.k.a The Almost Famous George Book, Don Stuart Anthony Lanzar a.k.a. Mr. Bass, Condrado Cagas Jr. aka. DJ Miko of Win Radio, Bam T. Petilos aka. Lady Bam of ABS-CBN and myself, pull our resources together to put up a fun and informative workshop participated by students and teachers of Sta. Ana National High School and Cabantian National High School as well as professional emcees and vocal talents from Davao, Mati, and Tagum.

Participants willingly gave knee high socks, clothes, blankets, canned goods, and letter of encouragement to Soldiers fighting in Marawi.

“This is our way of making our brave soldiers and displaced families in Marawi smile. You do not just learn how to be an effective Emcee and Voice Talent but at the same time extending relief to the victims of Marawi City”, according to Domingo.

“It is really about paying it forward by using our talents to help others. Our God-given gifts are meant to be shared with those around you”, she added.

This is not the first time Joey did a workshop to foster training and ask support for her cause, JDG models and students of Green Meadow Christian Academy were the first to invite her for talent and student training in exchange for donations for our soldiers.

Joey Sy –Domingo would like to thank the efforts of FDCP Davao Ms. Christine Cruz (Lead Officer) and Sunstar writer Mr. Rudolph Alama for giving the free space for all the participants at Cinemateque

For me, it was a blessing to be part of the event, “Stand and Deliver, it truthfully helps foster talents find their voices and get opportunities like we all had. Truly it is nice to give back, Joey Sy-Domingo, Lady Bam Petilos, Rey Bargamento, Don Lanzar and Condrado Cagas Jr, thinks so too. Until the next workshop.
