Last July 13, the region’s first and biggest school festival once again opened at the SM City Davao Annex Event Center with the University Fair 2017.
Gracing the opening ceremony along with celebrity keynote speaker Benjamin Alves were Department of Education regional director Atty. Alberto Escobarte, city councilor April Dayap and Indonesian Attache for Education and Culture Dr. Lili Nurlaili, M. Ed.
“On our fifth University Fair, we also highlight the senior high school programs as well as other alternatives to college degrees. We believe in empowering the youth and in providing them options and opportunities to be the best that they can become,” SM City Davao mall manager Lynette Angala-Lopez shares.
Information booths of educational institutions from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao were open to address queries from interested students and guardians.
Among the participating schools were University of Santo Tomas, Mapua University, Malayan Colleges, Silliman University, and Ateneo de Zamboanga. Davao-based schools Ateneo de Davao University, University of Immaculate Conception, University of Mindanao, Davao Doctors College, and the Holy Cross of Davao College were also ready to address inquiries from interested students and parents. Completing the line-up of schools were the Catholic University of Murcia (Spain) UCAM, Philippine Science High School, Davao City National High School, I-Chef, IMS, St. Alexius Flight School, MOST Institute, Joji Ilagan Bian Career Center and AISAT
The Commission on Higher Education, Department of Science and Technology, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, the Consular Office of Japan as well as the SM Foundation Inc. also took the stage to discuss their scholarship programs.
Smart, Vivo and Pizza Hut, Sports House and Skechers supported the UFair, making it more fun for all the participants.
